Students, public stage road blockade by seizing Govt. bus in Sulur

The road roko was in protest against the irregular timings of Government buses in Nallurpalayam area.

Coimbatore: Every day, hundreds of school and college students from Nallurpalayam village, near Sulur in Coimbatore commute by buses.

With only two buses, route number 6 and route number 105 plying in Nallurpalayam area, public and students complained that both buses were not plying on time.Hence, the public and school students staged a road roko in Nallurpalayam area on Monday morning. They alleged that the 8 o'clock scheduled bus was always an hour late and the 4 pm bus was delayed by more than an hour and sometimes the buses did not come at all.

Since the protesters have announced that they will not give up their protest until a proper solution is ensured to their problem with buses which is disrupting their daily lives, Sulur divisional authorities and the police at Sultanpet police station are negotiating with the protesters.
