Students from more than 10 educational institutions turned volunteers and participated in the massive clean-up drive called Tsunami Sweep that was hosted as a part of the 9th edition of the Coimbatore Vizha this morning. Government College of Technology (GCT) Coimbatore was the start point was this clean-up drive that was hosted for a distance of 30-kilometers.

The team of volunteers were divided into 37-zone and each of the teams ensured that they left the respective area clean and tidy. Towards the end of the Tsunami Sweep the 1,250 volunteers cleaned a total distance cleaned 30-kms and collected 15-tonnes of waste that was disposed in five vehicles.
