Tirupur Mahila Court sentences 62-year-old man to 47 years in jail for sexual assault of 13-year-old girl

Justice Nagarajan who heard the case sentenced Palani to a total of 47 years in jail under various sections for sexually assaulting the minor girl in August 2020 in Tirupur. Special public prosecutor Jameela Banu appeared on behalf of the Government in the case.


Tirupur: Palani (62), a native of Kangayam in Tirupur district is a wage labourer, In August 2020, he raped a 13-year-old girl.

The Tirupur Women's Police arrested Palani under the POCSO Act in connection with the incident and sent him to jail. The trial of the case was held in Tirupur Court. Justice Nagarajan who heard the case sentenced Palani to a total of 47 years in jail under various sections for sexually assaulting the minor girl. Special public prosecutor Jameela Banu appeared on behalf of the Government in the case.
