'God saved Coimbatore though City Intelligence failed:' District United Jamaat on car cylinder explosion incident in Coimbatore

The District United Jamaat General Secretary Abdul Jaffar met the Coimbatore City Police Commissioner, V Balakrishnan regarding the Coimbatore car cylinder blast and demanded that experienced policemen accquainted with City Intelligence be appointed.


Coimbatore: Tension prevailed among the people of Coimbatore city in the wake of the car cylinder explosion in Coimbatore South. Abdul Jaffar, the District United Jamaat General Secretary met the Police Comissioner of Coimbatore, V Balakrishnan at his office in this regard.



Later, while addressing the media, Abdul Jaffar said, "The man made an attempt to engage in terrorist activities. God has saved the people of Coimbatore city and punished him for trying to commit an act of terrorism. Those responsible behind this cospiracy are still in Coimbatore. We have to find them and take strict action to eradicate terrorism. The Jhuggia Jamaat will cooperate with the police and work together in this regard. The main purpose of coming to meet the City Police Commissioner was to highlight that the City Intelligence unit was not functioning. The question arises whether they did not inform theiyamuthur, Ukkadam, Big Bazaar Street and Variety Hall Road police stations in the main part of the city should havenew Intelligence Guards and experienced policemen apppointed. Only then can the Intelligence Services function effectively to eradicate crime."
