All 3539 students, 94 teachers and 33 administrative staff of the Avila Convent have joined hands for the grand finale of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of this educational institution. As a part of its golden jubilee celebrations, this school has undertaken various social responsibility projects, close to fifty social projects for the welfare of the needy including construction of ten houses for the poor- each cost Rs 12-lakhs were successfully implemented.

Over a dozen dignitaries from varied fields are expected to participate in the grand finale of the 50th jubilee celebrations of Avila Convent that is scheduled to be hosted at the Avila Convent Matric. Hr. Sec. School between 27th and 29th January.
Named after a small town in Spain which is the birth place of its patron- St Teresa of Avila run by the Congregation of Mother of Carmel founded by St. Kuriakose Elisa Chavara. Avila came into being in the year 1967. Presently, Avila ranks among the top ten educational institutions in Tamil Nadu.
This school has been a torch bearer in the field of education, empowering thousands of girl children year in and year out to be the flag bearer in respectable society.
