Applications for 'Amma Two-wheeler Scheme' for working women to be available till July 4

The District Collector has announced in a press release that applications for the Amma two-wheeler scheme will be provided until July 4. Under the scheme, working women in private, social and service organizations with Rs.2.5 lakh income per annum are eligible to apply. The applicants need to possess a valid licence or learner's license while applying for the two-wheeler. The age bar is from 18 to 40 years.

The District Collector has announced in a press release that applications for the Amma two-wheeler scheme will be provided until July 4. Under the scheme, working women in private, social and service organizations with Rs.2.5 lakh income per annum are eligible to apply. The applicants need to possess a valid licence or learner's license while applying for the two-wheeler. The age bar is from 18 to 40 years.

According to the scheme, applicants will be given Rs.25,000 or 50 percent of the value of the 125cc two wheeler as subsidy. The differently abled can receive up to Rs.31,250 as subsidy. The applications are available at all the Panchayat, Corporation and Municipality offices. Women from remote and hilly areas, unmarried women over 35 years, destitutes and widows may also apply for this scheme, which makes them eligible to buy vehicles from the Indian brand Yamaha and TVS bikes.

Along with the documents proving identity, place of residence, income certificate and appointment orders, eligible women can submit their filled in applications at the Panchayats, Municipality and Corporation offices.
