Summer festival to begin in Udhagamandalam; Traffic diversions announced for Queen of Hills

With the summer festival set to begin soon in the Nilgiris, certain changes in routes has been announced to control the vehicular traffic, as per which heavy load vehicles arriving to Coonoor are allowed to be operated between 10 pm to 6 am


Nilgiris:Certain changes in traffic has been announced for Ooty, as summer festival is all set to begin

With the summer festival set to begin soon in the Nilgiris, traffic has been changed to control vehicular traffic. A meeting was held led by Nilgiris Collector Amrit, in the presence of SP Ashish Rawat and Regional Transport Officer Thiagarajan, with lorry owners association, maxi cab drivers association, mini bus owners.

Accordingly, heavy vehicles coming from Mettupalayam to Coonoor and Ooty will be allowed to ply only from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am. Other vehicles coming to Ooty from Mettupalayam will ply via Coonoor and those going from Ooty to Mettupalayam will pass through Kotagiri. Local transport has also been changed. It comes into effect from April 16.
