Platform ticket reduced from Rs.50 to 10 - Salem Railways

The rate of platform ticket will be Rs.10 per ticket at Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore and Karur Jn. railway stations. The reduced rate will be with effect from 26.11.2021.


Coimbatore: As part of the easing of restrictions imposed due to Covid-19 pandemic, it has been decided by the competent authority to roll back the increase in the rate of platform ticket, said a release from Salem railway division.

Accordingly, the rate of platform ticket is to be brought down from Rs.50 to Rs.10 at five railway stations under Salem Division, where the rate of platform ticket was hiked, as per the release.

Earlier this year, Salem Division of Southern Railway had increased the rate of platform ticket at these 5 major railway stations to Rs.50 to discourage overcrowding amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

The rate of platform ticket will be Rs.10 per ticket at Salem Jn., Erode Jn., Tiruppur, Coimbatore Jn. and Karur Jn. railway stations. The reduced rate will be with effect from 26.11.2021.
