Tourists continue to be banned from visiting the iconic Kovai Kutralam

Due to heavy downpour last night at the Western Ghats, the forest department has announced that tourists are banned from visiting Kovai Kutralam.

Coimbatore: The Forest Department extends the ban on tourists visiting the iconic Kovai Kutralam. This decision comes following a heavy downpour in the Western Ghats last night.

Visitors were earlier banned from entering the Kovai Kutralam as continuous down pour spiked the inflow of water. However, the Forest Department announced that the ban shall be lifted as water inflow slumped on Tuesday morning.

Unfortunately, heavy rainfall in the region, last night has resulted in water flooding in the falls. This has prompted officials to keep the tourist spot closed to visitors.

The Forest Department clarified that the ban has been imposed due to unavoidable reasons and it stands effective until further notice
