Coimbatore: District Collector Nagarajan has warned that those found guilty of child marriage in the Coimbatore district could face up to two years in prison if found guilty.

He said in a statement that those who promote and promote child marriage could face up to two years in prison. The legal age for marriage in the country is 18 for women and 21 for men. Marriage to a person under this age is considered illegal. The government has warned that those who perform such marriages will be punished according to the law.
