Coimbatore: Even as a complete lockdown continues to be in force in Coimbatore owing to the spike that was witnessed in Covid-19 cases over the past three weeks, the Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner has advised the public not to step out of their homes.


Coimbatore: Even as a complete lockdown continues to be in force in Coimbatore owing to the spike that was witnessed in Covid-19 cases over the past three weeks, the Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner has advised the public not to step out of their homes.

In addition, the Corporation has currently allocated 50 Mobile Car Ambulances for the benefit of the public. A Mobile Car Ambulance per two wards is being allocated and implemented. These arrangements have been made to ensure vehicles are available to those affected by Covid-19 which can be used by contacting respective urban medical officers.

It has been made mandatory for the public to not use their own vehicles and public vehicles. The public have been informed that arrangements have been made to transport anyone infected with Covid-19 through the Mobile Car Ambulance to the Triage Centers from their homes, and also in the case of any medical or home counselling requirements. The Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner P Kumaravel Pandian reiterated that 108 ambulances could also be used if there was any emergency.
