Health Department urges public to use E-Sanjeevini for online medical service

E-Sanjeevini is an online portal established on behalf of the Department of Health to provide medical services


Coimbatore: E-Sanjeevini Online Medical Service was established on behalf of the Department of Health to benefit the general public during the curfew period. It focuses on helping the public to consult a doctor online without going to the hospital for various problems like fever and cold.

The health department has announced that an application called E-Sanjeevini can be downloaded and used by the public without any restrictions. Coimbatore records an average of 100 to 150 people users for the application daily.

Now, the Health Department Officials had urged the public to use the E-Sanjeevini application with the current rise of Covid-19 cases.

A Health Department official said, "The E-Sanjeevini online medical service is provided free of cost from 8 am to 8 pm. Government doctors from Tamil Nadu Government Hospitals provide counselling to patients online. They can be consulted for basic health problems." He also added, "Prescriptions can be provided online as well as those who are isolated at home due to corona infection."

"The application records the details of patients and schedules an apartment within 10-15 minutes. The consultation will be given online along with a prescription. People who are in-home quarantine can use this application to get help from Doctors," the official said.

With the rise of Covid-19 cases in the city again, the health department officials urge the public to use the application for medical help.
