All meat stalls in Coimbatore to be closed on January 28th ahead of Vallalar Day

Vallalar believed that no living thing should be harmed.


Coimbatore: Tamilnadu Government has agreed to observe Vallalar Day on January 28th this year and has ordered the closing of all butcher shops across Tamilnadu on that day.

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Kumaravel Pandian said that butcher shops in Coimbatore which sell chicken meat, beef, mutton and pork will remain closed on January 28th as a part of Vallalar Day.

District Corporation Commissioner Kumaravel Pandian then said that 10 corporation meat markets including Ukkadam meat market, Singanallur meat market, Podanur beef market and Thudiyalur mutton market will be closed on January 28th.

He then said that severe actions will be taken on meat sellerz who violate this order by the state government.
