Engineers begin checking electronic voting machines that arrived in Coimbatore.


Coimbatore: Work is in progress and is in full swing to check the electronic voting machines brought to Coimbatore from Maharashtra. Bell company engineers have been called in for this and the government employees are checking whether the voting machines are functioning well in their presence. Work is also underway to provide party symbols and the controls on electronic voting machines.

Electoral division officials said, "The electronic voting machine is being repaired with the help of Bell company engineers. This work will continue until next month. Work is underway to find additional polling stations as it is planned to set up one polling station per thousand people. He said the additional polling booths were being inspected for basic amenities including toilets, drinking water, electricity and security".
