Nivar Cyclone: Holiday declared for entire State on Nov 25, Wednesday - TN CM

Chennai: As Cyclone Nivar is expected to intensify into a 'very severe cyclonic storm' and move west-northwestwards and cross Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coasts between Karaikal and Mamallapuram on November 25, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edapadi K Palanisamy has announced public holiday for the entire state on Wednesday.



Chennai: As Cyclone Nivar is expected to intensify into a 'very severe cyclonic storm' and move west-northwestwards and cross Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coasts between Karaikal and Mamallapuram on November 25, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edapadi K Palanisamy has announced public holiday for the entire state on Wednesday. 

CM has informed that owing to predictions of very heavy rainfall across various parts of the State due to Nivar Cyclone, full state holiday has be declared on Wednesday, November 25.  

With a wind speed of 120-130 kmph gusting to 145 kmph. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in many places across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry over the next 24-48 hours. 

Announcing a public holiday on Nov 25, TN CM has appealed to the people to stay indoors in view of the cyclonic storm Nivar.He also added that essential services will remain to function.
