Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu CM has announced that semester exams have been cancelled for college students.

Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu CM has announced that semester exams have been cancelled for college students.

Due to the ongoing crisis COVID-19, all educational institutions have been closed from March. While all school students were declared as 'promoted' to next class, without exams, the CM today has announced that all semester exams for colleges stands cancelled. 

An official order has been issued revoking exams for this semester. The following courses were allowed for exemption.

- Exemption for first and second year arts and science students from the semester examination.

- 1st and 2nd year students are exempted from this semester examination for various technical diploma courses.

- Exempt students in the first year of PG courses including engineering courses. 

- Exemption for first, second and third year students of UG engineering courses.

- Exempt MCA first and second year students.

A detailed government notification regarding the exemption of semester exams for university college students will be released soon, the order said.
