The special train 02680 will start at 6.15 AM from Coimbatore and reach Katpadi at 11.50 AM. The train 02679 will return on the same route, starting from Katpadi at 4.20 PM and reaching Coimbatore at 10.15 PM. The train will have stoppages at Tirupur, Erode, Salem and Jolarpettai.
The Southern Railway has also informed that reimbursement of ticket charges for the trains cancelled from March 21 are not being processed now, and hence customers have been requested not to approach the reservation centers for the purpose.
The Southern Railway has issued an alert to patients with hypertension, diabetes, heart ailments, cancer and immuno-compromised state and also pregnant women, children less than 10 years and adults more than 65 years, asking them to travel only if there is an absolute necessity.
Emergency numbers 138 and 139 can be contacted for any assistance during the train journey, advised the railway department.
