Temporary vegetable markets shifted to new locations -Corporation Commissioner


Coimbatore: Temporary vegetable markets which set up at Gandhipuram and Central bus terminal under the Coimbatore Corporation hereon operate at the Prison Grounds from tomorrow. The one in Ukkadam bus stand will be shifted to Ukkadam Lorrypettai, informed Corporation Commissioner and special officer J Sravan Kumar in a press release.

Additionally, the vegetable market at the New Bus Stand at Mettupalayam Road, West Zone, will operate at the GCT Engineering College grounds in Thadagam road.

The shops in Poo market will be shifted to Devangapettai Higher Secondary School.

To reduce overcrowding of people at vegetable markets and create more such markets to ease travelling, the Coimbatore Corporation converted bus stands and such to temporary markets. Now, with the lockdown norms eased off and commencement of bus services shortly, the temporary markets have been shifted to new places.
