Tirupur District administration gears up for a Marathon to create awareness on water mgt and fitness

Tirupur: Tirupur district administration is all set to hold a Marathon this Sunday, October 13 to create awareness on water management, rainwater harvesting, waste recycling and overall fitness.


Tirupur: Tirupur district administration is all set to hold a Marathon this Sunday, October 13 to create awareness on water management, rainwater harvesting, waste recycling and overall fitness. 

Inviting the public to participate in large numbers, District Collector, K. Vijayakarthikeyan has stated that this marathon will be conducted under two categories.- under 13 years, 3 km run and above 13 years, 10 km run for both male and female. 

As part of the marathon, Nilavembu Kashayam will be distributed to the participants to develop immune to combat viral and dengue fever. Also, a program for the voters to verify and enroll themselves with polling body will be organised.

The marathon is scheduled to commence at 5:45 am from Tirupur district collector office and will end at the same point.

K. Vijayakarthikeyan, Collector, Tirupur, through a video in social media has invited people to take part in the marathon to stay physically healthy and clarify their doubts about rain water harvesting, water management, waste recycling and elector verification program.
