SRIT Student Kathiroli Wins Indian National Rally Sprint Championship from FMSCI

S Kathiroli, a third-year Mechanical Engineering student at Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology, Coimbatore, received the Indian National Rally Sprint Championship Award from FMSCI at a ceremony in Bengaluru on 18th June 2026, after competing in over 20 national dirt motorsport events across India.


Coimbatore: Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology (SRIT) celebrated a proud moment as one of its students secured national recognition in motorsports. S Kathiroli, a third-year Mechanical Engineering student and member of Team Mechatrons, was honoured with the Indian National Rally Sprint Championship Award by the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) at their Annual Awards ceremony held at Leela Bhartiya City, Bengaluru, on 18th June 2026.




The prestigious award recognizes Kathiroli's exceptional performance and dedication in the challenging field of dirt bike rally motorsports. His achievement has brought significant honour to the institution and highlighted the potential of young engineering students in competitive sports.






Kathiroli received specialized professional training from Jordi Viladoms, Chief Trainer of the Hero Motocross Factory Team, Spain. Under Viladoms' expert guidance, he developed advanced racing techniques and gained invaluable professional motorsport experience that proved instrumental in his success.




Over the past six months, the young racer has demonstrated remarkable commitment by participating in more than 20 national-level dirt motorsport competitions across India. He competed in three major categories: Motocross, Supercross, and Rally Racing, consistently performing against top riders from across the country.






His competition journey took him to various cities including Bengaluru, Goa, Nashik, Raipur, Jaipur, Vadodara, and Chikkamagaluru, where he showcased his grit and skill in demanding racing conditions. Each event added to his growing experience and reputation in the motorsports community.




The SNR Sons Management, along with the Principal, faculty members, and students of SRIT, have congratulated Kathiroli on his phenomenal success. They appreciated his determination, discipline, and passion for motorsports, qualities that have set him apart in the competitive field.




His achievements serve as an inspiration for young engineers to pursue their dreams beyond academic excellence and make their institutions proud on national platforms.
