Coimbatore: The Coimbatore police have arrested three individuals for kidnapping an auditor and robbing him of Rs 10 lakh and a gold chain. The incident unfolded after the victim responded to a social media advertisement about a hotel lease.

Fincy Lazarus Bose (48), son of Boss Ebenezer from Sai Baba Colony in Coimbatore, works as an auditor. Last month, Fincy posted an advertisement on his Facebook page seeking hotels for lease. A woman named Brinda contacted him, claiming to have a hotel available for lease in a hill area of Theni district.

Fincy inquired about the details, and Brinda asked him to arrange Rs 10 lakh in cash. On the day of the incident, Fincy informed Brinda that he had arranged the money. Brinda then asked him to come with her friends in a car.

Fincy set out with three individuals in the car, carrying the cash. Near a vacant plot in Jeeva Nagar, they stopped the car. The men threatened Fincy with a knife and robbed him of the Rs 10 lakh and his 4¼ sovereign gold chain. They then pushed Fincy out of the car and fled the scene.

Following a complaint filed by Fincy at the Sai Baba Colony Police Station, the police launched an investigation. On July 19, they arrested three suspects: Vishnu (38), son of Thandapani from Goundampalayam, Ashwin (29), son of Mani, and Jinson (37), son of Joseph from Ramanathapuram area in Coimbatore.

The police are currently searching for Brinda, who is absconding. From the arrested individuals, the police recovered Rs 2.99 lakh in cash, the 4¼ sovereign gold chain, three mobile phones, a knife, and the car used for the kidnapping.

The three arrested individuals have been remanded to custody. The investigation is ongoing as the police continue their search for Brinda, the main accused in the case.
