Coimbatore: In a significant health initiative, Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar inaugurated the 'Kalaignar Varumun Kappom' special medical camp today, June 22, at the Neelikonampalayam Municipal Middle School premises. The event was presided over by the Municipal Commissioner Ma. Sivaguru Prabhakaran.
The camp is specifically designed to distribute nutrition kits to pregnant women, enhancing their health during the crucial stages of pregnancy.
This move comes as part of the efforts to prioritise maternal health within the region. The nutrition kits provided will be a major benefit in combating nutritional deficiencies that are commonly seen during pregnancy.
The camp witnessed the presence of Eastern Zone Chairman Lakshmi Ilanchezhiankarthik, Health Committee Leader Mariselvan, Accounts Committee Leader Deepa Ilango, City Health Officer Dr. Boopathi, and council members Bhagiyam Danapal and Dharmaraj, along with various municipal officials.
