20-year-old drowns to death in Coimbatore; police launch probe

The Sulur police have registered a case and are investigating the death of a 20-year-old boy who accidentally drowned to death in a well, while he was taking a bath.


Coimbatore: A 20-year-old engineering student in Coimbatore drowned to death on Sunday, 20th March.

Praveen Raja (20), a native of Sivalingapuram in Ondipudur, Coimbatore, was pursuing engineering in a private college. The boy went to the garden in the Nadupalayam area with his friends and was taking a bath in the well when he suddenly drowned to death on the spot.

Sulur police rushed to the spot upon receiving informing and recovered the body of Praveen Raja. The body was sent to the government hospital for post mortem. The police have registered a case in this regard and are investigating.
