Karpagam Academy of Higher Education's Music and Dance Departments organized a special Varalakshmi Pooja celebration rooted in the Indian Knowledge System. Students, faculty, and staff participated enthusiastically with musical and dance offerings, highlighting the essence of Indian culture and tradition in Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: Karpagam Academy of Higher Education's Music and Dance Departments, functioning under the School of Performing Arts, organized a special Varalakshmi Pooja celebration based on the Indian Knowledge System. The event showcased the integration of art, spirituality, and culture, emphasizing the significance of the Indian Knowledge System.
The event was presided over by Dr. R. Vasanthakumar, Chairman of Karpagam Academy of Higher Education. Dr. Janaka Mayadevi, Dean of the School of Performing Arts, delivered the welcome address. The program commenced with Tamil Thaai Vaazhthu rendered by music department students, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.
Musical offerings were presented by the Music Department and dance offerings by the Dance Department. Dr. Janaka Mayadevi and Dr. J. Indumathi, Assistant Professor of Dance Department, trained the students and guided them excellently for the performances.
Under the guidance of music faculty members Dr. Praseeda Bal, C. Meera Priyadarshini, R. Sruthilaya, and technical assistant T. Durga, music department students made elaborate arrangements for the Varalakshmi Pooja.
Subsequently, Dr. R. Vasanthakumar, Chairman of the institution, delivered the special address. K. Murugaiah, Chief Executive Officer of Karpagam Educational Institutions, Dr. S. Ravi, Vice Chancellor of Karpagam Academy of Higher Education, and Dr. P.V. Pradeep, Registrar, delivered special addresses and graced the occasion.
