Coimbatore: The Karamadai-based Cricketer, Naveen Raj who was part of the Indian Cricket Team in the International Youth League was chosen Man of the Match and a trophy was for best bowling throughout the series.
International Youth Cricket League matches were held in Sharjah for the past week. Cricketer Naveen Raj, 24, a native of Karamadai in Coimbatore district, was part of the Indian team that participated in the tournament.
The Indian team advanced to the final and finished second. Karamadai-based cricketer Naveen Raj was the Man of the Match for his best spell in the finals and a trophy for best bowling throughout the series was awarded to him.Naveen Raj, of Cap Academy, holds a bachelor's degree, is passionate about becoming a cricketer.
"After several struggles, I had the opportunity to play in the Indian team because of my perseverance. I participated in the Indian team in the International Cricket League match in Sharjah for the past week and exhibited my talent."
Naveen said that the team stormed into the finals, through their jaunty performance in all the league stage matches and fought hard in the finals, ending up as the runners. He said that bagging two trophies was a memorable moment in his life, and would want to continue to practice more in the coming days and play for India in more matches.
"I would like to express my gratitude to my parents, friends, sponsor, and all the players in my cricket team who played with me for inspiring and supporting me."
Naveen raj arrived in Coimbatore by air at 10:30 pm on Tuesday.
