Coimbatore:The DVAC officers have seized Rs 34 lakhs worth cryptocurrency documents from the raid held at the properties related to Ex-AIADMK Minister SP Velumani, across TN.

The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption police held a raid at 58 places across Tamil Nadu in cities including Coimbatore, at properties belonging to Ex-Minister SP Velumani. The Anti-corruption police have registered a case against 13 persons, including his brother Anbarasan, Anbarasan's wife Hemalatha and Namadhu Amma daily publisher Vadavalli Chandrasekhar, KCB engineering partner Chandraprakash, for allegedly amassing wealth in excess of their income during 2016 to 2021 when he was the state minister of local and rural development.



In particular, on the basis of a complaint of amassing wealth to the tune of about Rs 58.23 crore during the period, Coimbatore district anti-corruption and vigilance wing police registered a case under five sections including conspiracy.

Further, anti-bribery police raided the suspected places in connection with the case from 6.30 am. Out of this, 59 places were raided by anti-bribery officials at 42 in Coimbatore, Tirupur 2, Salem 4, Namakkal, Krishnagiri, Thirupattur at one place each, Chennai 7 and one farmhouse at Anaikatti in Kerala.



In most places, the raids have been completed and the anti-bribery department has reported the raid. In the first raid, about 11.53 kg of gold jewelry, 118 kg of silver and various documents have been found.

Similarly, unaccounted cash of Rs 84 lakh, mobile phones, security locker keys, laptops, hard disks were seized in several banks.In particular, it has been reported that a wide range of cryptocurrency investments to the tune of about Rs 34 lakh have been found.
