The video of a snake found near the parking area at the District Collectorate has raised concerns among the public visiting the office, as they state that life-threatening creatures continue to visit the place due to the presence of bushy plants, and wanted them immediately removed.
Coimbatore: A snake near the vehicle parking at the District Collectorate has raised concerns of safety among the public.
Visitors at the campus of the district collectrate here, captured a huge snake slithering near the parking area of the campus on Saturday, and this has raised the concerns of safety of the public visiting the District Collector’s office. This is not the first time a snake was spotted, and one was found in an office in the building a few days back. But the snake catchers were unable to find the reptile.
The frequent presence of snakes and poisonous animals in the Coimbatore Collectorate premises, where thousands of people visit every day, has created fear and discontent among the public. The public and the staff working there stated that the unmaintained bushes in the premises as the major reason for animals and reptiles visiting the campus repeatedly.
Especially, in the area behind the Collectorate premises where vehicles are parked, plants and vines have grown and huge bushes are found as they are not maintenance for the last few months. Subsequently, there is a demand that the district administration should take steps to remove the bushes and capture the snakes and release them safe in the forest area before any untoward incident occurs.
