Coimbatore: The young social workers and corona warriors were honored for their services by Jain monks and parents and were honored at the Silver Jubilee of Suparswanath Jain Seva Mandal.

The Silver Jubilee of the Suparswanath Jain Seva Mandal, (SSJSM) , the oldest, biggest Jain youth social organization of Tamilnadu, based in Coimbatore was celebrated.

The young social workers who broke out the religious barriers and extended their possible help during the pandemic to the public were honored.

All the 200 youths gathered at the grand Suparswanath Jain temple at Rangai Gowder St and performed Abhishek of lord Suparswanath and the other 24 Jain Tirthankaras.

As Jains do not use mics, or electricity, the Jain Acharya Sree Naratnasuriswarji Marasaheb addressed the gatherers without microphones. He, in his discourse, said that the parent-child relationship is different in various stages and the youth stage of the boy is very influential.

The Jain acharyas speak from their heart and their ‘Nabhi Kamala’ when they chant the holy Jain Vedic scriptures written by lord Mahaveer in the age-old Prakruthi language mixed with Sanskrit. He said that the youth should be emotionally attached to the family and society. Kishore Golecha, a Jain scholar stated that children revered their parents placing them equal to God.

The youth gathered there washed their parents' feet with water and milk, applied kumkum and rice on the parents' forehead, garlanded them.

Office bearers and SSJSM members participated in the four hour long programme.
