Minister Senthil Balaji accuses AIADMK of trying to disrupt vote counting in Coimbatore

The DMK Minister Senthil Balaji while addressing the press here stated that the AIADMK men have been gathered in thousands in the city with the notion to create ruckus on the day of vote counting in the city.


Coimbatore: The electricity Minister Senthil Balaji has accused AIADMK of trying to disrupt vote counting in Coimbatore.



A consultative meeting for the candidates and candidate agents was held at the Suguna Marriage Hall in coimbatore on Monday headed by Minister Senthil Balaji.



After the meeting, Minister Senthil Balaji addressing the reporters stated that the opposition party is now all set to create disruption as counting will be held tomorrow and that the DMK cadre have been instructed to stay calm despite any ruckus created.

“We have instructed DMK men to be patient in case of any kind of violence during counting of votes tomorrow. It has also been advised to focus on counting of votes even if there is violence”.

He added that AIADMK had been using their power and engaged in violence on the day of elections and held a secret meeting on Sunday ahead of counting to be held on the 22nd. Senthil Balaji stated that the meeting was held under the veil, with no cell phones, doors closed to make sure only AIADMK men were present.



Adding that AIADMK has summoned at least 100 people to all the vote counting centres and alleged that thousands of people were planning to unleash violence on the day of counting. With elections held peacefully, the minister stated that he wants the election counting to also be held in a peaceful manner.

Questioning who let AIADMK men inside the polling booths, Senthil Balaji stated that the Election Commission has been informed of the act. Upon inquiring about Aadhar Card’s necessity for free power connection, he said that he would answer questions once elections are over.
