Corruption allegation; DMK seeks change of candidate in ward 77 in Coimbatore

The DMK Responsibility Committee member Baby Mathiyazhagan and supporters have demanded that the candidate of ward no.77 has to be changed and alleged the DMK north district In-charge R Ramachandran of corruption.


Coimbatore: DMK men stage protest demanding change of candidate posted for urban local polls in ward no.77 in Coimbatore.

The 8th list of candidates was released on behalf of DMK for the urban local body elections in Tamil Nadu. Accordingly, Rajalakshmi was declared as the candidate in ward 77 of Coimbatore North District.



The 77th Taluk Corporation responsibility committee member Baby Mathiyazhagan and his supporters protested demanding that Rajalakshmi is replaced. At the demonstration, the participants raised slogans demanding the replacement of Rajalakshmi and raised slogans condemning R Ramachandran, DMK North District In-charge.

Ramachandran was alleged of accepting money and helping undeserving candidates.



The Selvapuram police arrested and took away more than 50 demonstrators.
