Fire brigade rescued a cow that accidentally fell into a well located in the farmland, cranes were used in the rescue operation as the well was too deep to lift the animal up using ropes
Coimbatore: A cow that was trapped into a well was successfully rescued to safety by the fire fighters. A crane was used in the rescue operation. The incident took place in Annur located northeast of Coimbatore.
Kandasamy, a farmer from Dasapalayam area near Annur who usually rears cattle on his land, left his cow tied near a well on Tuesday afternoon for grazing.
Reportedly, the animal fell into an 80ft deep well, belonging to Kandasamy, as it stumbled. Kandasamy upon learning his cow was trapped in the well, he informed the fire services, who rushed to the spot.
Unable to lift the animal up due to the well’s depth, the fire brigade with the help of a crane, roped off the animal to safety outside.
The locals in the area were highly appreciative of the fire service for the safe recovery of the 2nd cow, on the second consecutive day.
