A solo wild elephant demolished and damaged the house of Syed Ali in a residential area inhabited by Assam workers in Aayarpadi estate area near Valparai on Monday night. The walls of the home were damaged and the inmate, Farida Begum, suffered minor injuries.
Valparai MLA Amul Kandasamy visited the area and requested the municipality to install a street light and also to repair the house.
The public has demanded protection as wild elephants trespassing into residential areas are on the rise in the area.
