Coimbatore District Police seized 10.8 kg of ganja chocolate worth around ₹1 lakh from 35-year-old Ravindra Kushwaha, a native of Uttar Pradesh during a search based on a confidential tip-off near Machegoundenpalayam. The accused was arrested and sent to judicial remand, while further investigation is underway.
Coimbatore: A 35-year-old man was arrested and remanded in judicial custody after police allegedly seized 10.8 kg of ganja chocolate worth around ₹1 lakh from him near Machegoundenpalayam near Eachanari in Coimbatore.
Based on a confidential tip-off that a person was in possession of ganja chocolate, a police team led by SI Dhanasekaran conducted a search in the area behind a private college at Machegoundenpalayam.
During the search, police allegedly found ganja chocolates in the possession of a man later identified as Ravindra Kushwaha (35). The seized ganja chocolates weighed around 10.8 kg, police said.

According to police, Kushwaha, a native of Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh, was residing in the Singanallur area of Coimbatore and working as a roadside cellphone spare-parts seller.
He was subsequently arrested and sent to judicial remand. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
