So far, more than 54,000 eligible school children have received the coronavirus vaccine. As schools are closed, text messages are being sent to students who have not been vaccinated and action is being taken to vaccinate them.
Coimbatore: The target is to vaccinate 64,173 out of 29,425 students aged 15 to 18 and 34,748 students living in Coimbatore.
As schools are currently closed, the corporation's health department says it is taking steps to vaccinate eligible school students who have not been vaccinated by sending WhatsApps and text messages through their respective school heads.
An official from the corporation's health department said, "So far, more than 54,000 eligible children have received the coronavirus vaccine. At present, as schools are closed, headmasters are texting non-vaccinated students and taking steps to vaccinate them.”
