The city police are on the lookout for the burglars who broke into the house of a realtor and a mechanic’s home, and took away eleven-and-a-half sovereign gold from the two houses.
Coimbatore: The city police are on the lookout for the burglars who broke into the house of a realtor and a mechanic’s home and took away eleven-and-a-half sovereign gold from the two houses.
Unidentified persons broke into the house of Balashanmugam (51), of Veerapandi next to Periyanaickenpalayam in Coimbatore. Balashanmugam is a realtor by profession and reportedly left to a temple in Kochi a few days back along with his family. Balashanmugam was shocked to find the door open while he returned home on Saturday. On checking the house inside, the home owner discovered that the bureau was broken and the miscreants had stolen 10- sovereigns of gold jewellery. Balashanmugam lodged a complaint with the Periyanaickenpalayam police. A case has been registered and the police also probing the CCTV cameras installed in the area and are on the hunt for the looters.
In another incident, Sakthivel (47), of Bodipalayam next to Madukkarai a mechanic for a private company lodged a complaint of a break-in at his house. He used to go to work in the morning and return home the next morning. Two days back, Sakthivel left for work as usual and his wife and son were sleeping upstairs locking the doors below. Sakthivel who returned home in the morning, found that the front door of the house had been broken. A look inside revealed that the bureau in the room had been broken into and one-and-a-half pounds of gold jewellery had been stolen. The wife and son were on the first floor, and reportedly, they were unaware of the incident. Sakthivel complained to Madukkarai police. Police have registered a case and are searching for the robbers.
