Building permit increased from 28 percent to 82.93 percent now; Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner informs

The building permit, which was 28 percent due to continuous monitoring and follow-up by the corporation administration, has now risen to 82.93 percent and licenses for the files have been issued expeditiously, said Corporation Commissioner Raja Gopal Sunkara.


Coimbatore: Raja Gopal Sunkara, Corporation Commissioner said the building permit has been increased from 28% to 82.93% due to continuous monitoring and follow-up by the Coimbatore Corporation Administration.

Registered with the Corporation, at Coimbatore PSG College of Technology to rectify the impediments to uploading on the UTIS Smart DCR website is currently in operation to issue building permits expeditiously to the Corporation. Rangasamy, a technical trainer at Vinzas Solutions India Private Limited, Chennai, trained 62 engineers (Registered Engineers) on direct explanation and resolving doubts through computers.



Earlier, a preliminary consultation was held on the issue of issuance of building permits by UTIS software operating under the Directorate of Municipal Administration, Chennai, under the chairmanship of the Commissioner, Chennai Software Maintenance Company, Registered Engineers of the Corporation and Corporation Officers through a video conference. Accordingly, all the officers of the Coimbatore Corporation Urban Planning Division have been examined in the presence of the Commissioner and the Deputy Commissioner and the building permits have been issued for 120 files.

A total of 2,194 files were pending in the town planning section. Of these, 826 are pending files, 685 are building permit approval files, 56 are unpaid files related to building permits, 627 are pending files and 141 are currently under consideration. Building permit was granted on 01.11.2021 for 28% of files. Due to continuous monitoring and follow-up by the corporation administration, the building permit which was 28% has now increased to 82.93% and the licenses have been issued expeditiously. Eligible files in the remaining files should be resolved as soon as possible. Engineers were also instructed to instruct those involved to upload additional documents through the website if required.

In the future, applicants for building permits will not have to come to the zonal offices with the relevant copy and the permitted files will be sent to the applicants through the website, said Raja Gopal Sunkara, Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer. The training session was attended by Corporation Executive Engineer (Project) Karuppathal, Assistant Urban Planning Officers, Assistant Engineers and Registered Engineers (RE) of the Corporation.
