The State Platform for Common School System (SPCSS) General Secretary has stated that he will initiate and participate in an indefinite hunger strike in Chennai from the 30th, in case the Governor and the President do not take any action regarding TN’s NEET Bill.
Coimbatore: The State Platform for Common School System (SPCSS) General Secretary has stated that he will initiate and participate in an indefinite hunger strike in Chennai from the 30th in case the Governor and the President do not take any action regarding TN’s NEET Bill.
Prince Gajendra Babu, General Secretary, State Platform for Common School Systems, met the press at Thanthai Periyar Library in Gandhipuram on Tuesday.
“A committee of experts reviewed the NEET under the chairmanship of retired Justice Rajan after the DMK government assumed office and passed a bill. The bill was sent to the Governor. But, why has the Governor not sent it to the President, so far?”, question Prince. Adding that the Governor has been delaying it for 3 months and there are students in Tamil Nadu distressed by NEET.
Alleging that the Governor has been violating the concept of integrated rule, Prince urged that he (the Governor) has to immediately forward the bill to the President. In case the Government of India does not approve of it, he said that he will go on a hunger strike on 30th January, Gandhi’s death anniversary, in Chennai on behalf of the State platform of Common School Systems.
Prince informed, that before the strike, a people's meeting would be held and the impact of NEET will be conveyed.
