The Tirupur police arrested four natives of Bangladesh who were working in a garment factory in the city without carrying valid documents.
Tirupur: The Tirupur police arrested four natives of Bangladesh who were working in a garment factory in Sevanthampalayam, without possessing proper documents.
It is a recurring story that guest workers and persons from other countries work at the garment factories in Tirupur without proper documentation. Based on the information received that many workers have been staying in the city illegally, the city Police Commissioner, Vanitha, the cops are in the process of verifying documents of the workers employed in the garment factories.
The Nallur police interrogated a youth upon suspicions during a patrol at the Sevanthampalayam area on Wednesday, in which it has been revealed that the man was a native of Bangladesh. He further revealed that he had been working in India for the past eight years and had been staying in Tirupur for the past eight months. The worker had been employed in sewing and cutting garments at baniyan factories in the city.
A total of four persons identified as Paridol Islam, (24), son of Abdul Kutuz of Sirajganji, Rajshahi Division, Ridoi Hussain Ribat, (23), son of Muhammad Kabir Hussain of Narayanganj of Dhaka, Simul Rahman, (27), son of Abdul Haai of Satkhira, Dhaka, Rey Khan, (26), son of Badshah of Narayanganj, Dhaka state, were found to be staying in the city without proper documentation.
Police arrested all four and they were transported to Puzhal Jail in Chennai. The police also issued a strict warning to the owner and manager of the factory that no person shall be recruited without verifying the documents.
