Minister Senthil Balaji issues 350 beneficiaries with job ID cards in Coimbatore

The Electricity Minister issued identity cards to 350 beneficiaries of the Tamil Nadu Urban Employment Scheme after inaugurating the road works by performing bhumi pooja on Monday.


Coimbatore: The Electricity Minister issued identity cards to 350 beneficiaries of job opportunity scheme on Monday. The Tamil Nadu Electricity, Prohibition and Excise Minister Senthil Balaji issued identity cards to the beneficiaries of the Tamil Nadu Urban Employment Scheme.

The function was presided over by District Collector G.S. Sameeran, Commissioner and Special Officer of the Corporation Raja Gopal Sunkara, took the lead.

The Minister stated that the Chief Minister has announced various benefit schemes for the development of Coimbatore and that 25,000 beneficiaries have been given welfare assistance. The district administration is taking necessary steps to complete the development schemes.

Furthermore, in order to improve the livelihood of the urban poor, in the first phase, the Urban Employment scheme at an estimated cost of Rs.100-crore has been implemented in 2 zones in Chennai, one zone each in other Corporations, one municipality each in 7 Municipal zones and one Town Panchayat each in 37 Town Panchayats in 37 districts.

A sum of Rs.1.95-crore has been allocated for the East zone of Coimbatore in the first phase. This scheme will be implemented in other regions in several other phases. About 350 beneficiaries will be provided jobs under the scheme, stated the minister.



The Minister issued employment identity cards to 96 beneficiaries at Ward No.61 East Zone Office, Ward No.64 Varadarajapuram, and Ward No.75 Nanjundapuram Corporation Hospital Complex.

Karthik, Former Panchayat Head Payya Krishnan, Former Member of Parliament A.P. Nagarajan, Regional 2 Assistant Commissioner Mariselvi (East) Shanker (Central), Mohanasundari (North), Assistant Executive Engineer Sundarrajan, Former Regional Committee Chairman S.M. Samy, Corporation Officials and a large number of people participated.
