Based on the District SP's request, the Coimbatore District Collector passed an order to charge murder convicts under the Goondas Act.
Coimbatore: A murder accused in Coimbatore has been booked under the Goondas Act upon the orders of the District Collector, G S Sameeran.
Ramesh was killed on August 29 this year in the Bodipalayam area under Madukkarai police station limits in Coimbatore. The accused, Raghukrishnan alias Kully alias Raghupathi (20) of Bodipalayam area was arrested.
The Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police, S Selvanagarathinam requested charging the accused under the Goondas Act and hence the Coimbatore District Collector, G S Sameeran issued an order to take action on the accused under the Prevention of Goondas Act. According to the order, Raghupathi was arrested and imprisoned under the Prevention of Goondas Act.
