Two Nanotechnology Research Students of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University awarded scholarships by the Prime Minister of India for Scientific Research Students.
Coimbatore: The Prime Minister's Scholarship is awarded every year to encourage doctoral students to excel in both the fields of technology and education in educational institutions.
Two students studying Nanotechnology at the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University have been selected to receive this year's Prime Minister of India Scholarship. Most importantly, this scholarship is seen as a direct scholarship to the Prime Minister of India.
The scholarship was awarded to Pradeep, a doctoral student, for his "Unmanned Nano Fertilization Method of Infiltration Into Crops" and Shanmugapriya, a Doctor of Doctoral Research on "Using Hybrid Pathogens to Destroy Plant Nematode Fungi".
The students said that every year the Prime Minister of India's research students are given incentives and this year a total of 37 students from all over the country were selected. The Prime Minister of India will provide a stipend of Rs.62,000 per month for the research, which will last for four years. They said the scholarship would be more useful in developing new technologies in their research in the field of agriculture.
Lakshmanan, Head, Department of Nanotechnology, said that the Prime Minister's Scholarship for Scientific Research would encourage students to develop even more new technologies. He said it was a matter of pride for the University of Tamil Nadu that two students studying in the same field at a university in Tamil Nadu were receiving scholarships from the Prime Minister of India. He added that such scholarships would encourage the development of new technologies.
