Public grievance meeting in Coimbatore, 18 petitions submitted

The Corporation Commissioner who received the petitions at the meeting today assured that the concerned departmental action will be taken on the petitions submitted.


Coimbatore: The public grievance meeting was held in Coimbatore East Zone on 1st December, and a total of 18 petitions were received in the meeting.

The Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer, Raja Gopal Sunkara, chaired the Grievance Meeting in Coimbatore on Wednesday. The Grievance meetings are held in the city on Wednesdays and Fridays in all the zones of the Coimbatore Corporation.



As many as 18 petitions on imposition of property tax, vacancy taxation, renaming of property tax, imposition of the industrial tax, issuing industrial licenses, provision of underground sewage connections and basic amenities like road construction, lighting, drinking water, sanitation, and petitions containing various demands were submitted in the meeting.

Six petitions for the town Planning Division, four petitions for revenue division, five petitions for the corporation engineering department, one petition for accounts, one petition for the public health division, and one petition for the public sector, making it a total of 18 petitions were submitted today. On receiving these petitions, the Commissioner of Municipal Corporations and the Special Officer directed the concerned Regional Assistant Commissioner and Officers to take appropriate action on these petitions.

The commissioner further assured that such meetings will be held on a weekly basis in all the zones in Coimbatore, on Wednesdays and Fridays, through which the public shall submit petitions on their needs. Commissioner Raja Gopal Sunkara assured that appropriate Departmental Action will be taken on the petitions received.

The East Zone Assistant Commissioner, Senthilkumarratnam, other officials of the corporation, and the public attended this grievance meeting held on Wednesday.
