Special yagna performed in Coimbatore to save jumbos from train accidents

After the tragic accidents of three wild elephants on Navakkarai rail track, a special yagna was performed at an Amman temple here, to save the wild elephants from train accidents.



Coimbatore: A special yagna was performed in Uppilipalayam Mariamman temple in Coimbatore, praying that no more elephants shall die in train accidents.



The tragic death of three wild elephants, which included a pregnant elephant, on Friday in Navakkarai, as a speeding train hit the animals has impacted the locals, forest officials, and the public.



Kash Manoth performed a special yagna, ‘Ma-Yagam’ at the Mariamman temple in Uppilipalayam on Tuesday, to save wild elephants from getting killed in train accidents. They also prayed that the center should take measures to operate trains at a lower speed and prevent wild animals from such accidents.



The pictures of the dead elephants were used while performing the yagna.
