Ex-Minister Velumani urges TN Government to address the problems of Coimbatore immediately

The AIADMK Ministers filed the nominations for the local body polls here on Friday after which the former AIADMK Minister, SP Velumani talked to the press in the evening.


Coimbatore: The AIADMK Minister, SP Velumani, addressing reporters here on Friday, urged the Tamil Nadu government to take immediate steps and find a solution for the various problems of the people in Coimbatore.

Former minister S P Velumani met the press on Friday evening, post receiving the nominations for local polls from AIADMK members in Coimbatore. Talking to the press the minister stated that he cared less about any number of cases filed against him, but insisted that the Tamil Nadu government should take steps to find an immediate solution to the problems of the people in Coimbatore.

The nominations for local polls are obtained from the candidates across Tamil Nadu today. The ex- ADMK Minister SP Velumani received the nominations and talked to the reporters on Friday evening.

Addressing the press he stated that the party’s victory in Coimbatore was due to the former Chief Minister’s various welfare schemes implemented in the city. Alleging over 300 projects have been shelved in Coimbatore by the current government, he stated that DMK cannot accuse previous rulers of not implementing new schemes.

He stated that he was being prosecuted due to political grudges and that police and officials were harassing his family and friends on a daily basis, in the name of interrogation. The Minister voiced that a protest will be upheld in case of failure to look into the people’s issues within a week.
