6-year-old Coimbatore boy to walk the ramp at International Junior Fashion Show; First-ever representation from the state

A six-year-old boy from Coimbatore is selected for the International Junior Fashion Show hosted in Dubai which is also a first-ever representation from the state.


Coimbatore: A six-year-old boy model, hailing from Coimbatore is all set to walk the ramp in the International Junior Fashion Show, to be held in Dubai. The boy is the first-ever participant from Tamil Nadu.



Rana, (6), son of Sivakumar and Gomathi is a first-standard student studying at a private school. Rana belongs to Ram Nagar in Coimbatore, has been modelling since he was three, states his father.

Rana's father, Sivakumar shared that Rana has been modelling, acting in advertisements and short films. A friend who visited Gomathi’s beauty salon suggested taking Rana to contest in fashion shows, which the parents hesitated initially as he was only three by then.



However, the boy participated in the fashion show held in Coimbatore and Rana bagged the first place. Since then on there was no looking back. The win boosted the spirit and passion of boy and the family. Rana’s father stated that the boy built himself up by watching more modelling videos and shows live.



Rana has procured over 15 medals and trophies so far participating in national and state-level fashion shows held in Coimbatore, Chennai, Bengaluru, Salem, Goa.



Meanwhile, Rana will participate in the international junior fashion show hosted in Dubai on 23rd, 24th, 25th, and 26th. People from about 15 countries will participate. The preliminary roundwere conducted online.



Rana is the first-ever boy to represent Tamil Nadu So far, only people from outside the state have participated in the event. Rana is currently working in various ad promotions and is actively learning the traditional art of Tamil Nadu, Silambattam. The young biy received compliments from the film director Selvaraghavan and many have sponsored Rana.

Rana stated that a victory would not just make Tamil Nadu proud but the entire nation.
