Coimbatorians bid spiritual farewell to Jain monk Sadhvi Dr Kumudlata to walk barefoot to Mumbai for next Chatrumasya

Many Coimbatorians are happy that they had the blessings of spiritual Sadhvi. Chatrumasya was held. Many non Jain's took oath not to harm animals and to turn vegetarians.



Coimbatore: Sadhvi Dr Kumudlata, Sadhvi Mahapragya, Sadhvi Padmakirti, Sadhviji Rajkirti after performing 120 days Chaturmasya at the Mahavir Bhavan at Oppanakara street bid farewell to the city on Saturday from Edayar street passing through RG street and Avinashi road. The 4 sadhvis walked barefooted and reached the

Peelemedu outskirts area of the city and tomorrow, Sunday morning they will walk to Suparswanath jain temple vihar dham near Goldwins .



The Jain monks Sadhvi Dr Kumudlata had travelled more than 4,000 km in 5 years in Southern India doing Chaturmasya at Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mysuru and now

finished Chaturmasya at Coimbatore and will walk barefoot from Coimbatore to Mumbai 1,300 km via Bengaluru. Hubli and are destined to reach Mumbai around the next

Chaturmasya which is about 8 months from now. Sadhvi Kumudlata had walked nearly 40 thousand kilometres in her lifetime.



According to Jain historian and Yog scholar Kishore Kumar Golecha the Jain monks lead a very simple life without any worldly pleasures. They don't use any vehicles or electricity

for their comfort. They go to houses for bhiksha or gochri and eat only once and after sunset they don't consume food and water too.

Sadhvi Kumudlata had preached through discourses the teachings of Lord Mahaveer, Lord Buddha, Lord Shiva, Lord Ram and others in Coimbatore from past 120 days of her

Chatrumasya also she performed various Anushthan in which people took part in Jain meditation.



President of Coimbatore Jain Sthanak Sangh Sreepalchand Kankariya said that during Chaturmasya devotees from Coimbatore and surroundings were instrumental in making this

Chatrumasya a grand success and he thanked the various committees and the youth wing members. Secretary of the Sangh Dhanraj Choradia said 'we should continue and lead a

simple life as taught by the gurus.'

Dhanraj Choradiya thanked the Coimbatore administration and police administration for the cooperation rendered. Earlier on Karthik Poornima the monks led by Sadhvi Kumudlata

had performed Lord Neminath Jap or meditation at Edayar street for the well-being of humankind, animals and plants too.

Many Coimbatorians are happy that they had the blessings of such spritual Sadhvis. Kishore Kumar said “the Chatrumasya was held following COVID 19 protocol. After hearing

her spiritual discourses many non Jain's took oath not to harm animals and consume pure vegetarian food which is good for health and for environment.”
