Circular issued by Director of Elementary Schools to ensure safety of students during rainy season

Director of Elementary Schools asks to ensure that water, open wells and septic tanks are closed on school premises. In the lane where the waterways are located, students should be instructed to take a different route to school and use a safer lane, dispose of trees on the school premises if they are in a condition of being uprooted.


Coimbatore: The Directorate of Primary Education has directed the school principals and officials to take precautionary measures against rain accidents and ensure the safety of the students.

A circular from the Director of Elementary Education said the perimeter walls of the schools will be damp due to the continuous rain. Therefore, students should be prevented from going near. The affected classrooms should not be used.

The schools are instructed to ensure that water, open wells and septic tanks are closed on school premises. In the lane where the waterways are located, students should be instructed to take a different route to school and use the safer lane, dispose of trees on the school premises if they are in a condition of being uprooted.

The circular instructed that roofs of the school should be kept free of water. All aspects related to the safety of students should be examined. In cases of need, approach the District Collector to ensure the safety of the students. The school building stability and the security of the premises should be inspected before the school reopens.
