100 percent raw material increase due to central government negligence: Small business organizations across state decide to protest

Micro-entrepreneurs are facing a severe crisis of not being able to get subsidies. They demanded the compulsion of ISO certification should be withdrawn by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. It has been decided on behalf of the federation to place a request to help facilitate subsidies to micro-entrepreneurs.

Coimbatore: The meeting of FOCIA was hosted at RS Puram. Co-ordinator of the organisation, James told reporters that small businesses have been paralyzed by rising commodity prices.

The livelihoods of thousands of entrepreneurs is affected. Millions of workers are at risk of losing their jobs. The central government, who has not paid heed to the demand for a year, has raised prices by 100 percent. Production of manufacturing-based entrepreneurs has fallen by 50 percent.

The small business entrepreneurs who are undertaking job orders are suffering without work orders. It was decided at the meeting that the Union Government should take action to control the rise in prices and take action to give a voice to the entire state to protect the small businesses by meeting the industry organizations across Tamil Nadu. The Government of Tamil Nadu has been providing a 25 per cent subsidy for the purchase of new machinery for the benefit of micro entrepreneurs. Currently there is a new requirement to have ISO certification to get the grant. This new compulsion has forced job-making entrepreneurs and parts-making entrepreneurs to spend thousands of dollars on ISOs to subsidize their purchasing machines.

As a result, micro-entrepreneurs are facing a severe crisis of not being able to get subsidies. This compulsion should be withdrawn from the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. It has been decided on behalf of the federation to place a request to help facilitate subsidies to micro-entrepreneurs.
