Tiruppur: Two persons were arrested for stealing goats at Uthukkuli near Tiruppur and Rs. 1,25,000 / - was seized from them.
In Tirupur district, 8 cases were registered in connection with the theft of 28 goats and 25 chickens in Uthukkuli area.
The Uthukkuli police set up a special team to investigate the matter. Following a search of a vehicle near the Bulavarpalayam bus stand on Vijayamangalam Road, the police arrested two persons, Kelsad (23), son of Murugesan of Sankagiri ICL area in Salem district and Lokeswaran (23), son of Murugesan of Sankagiri, Eeswaran Kovil, Salem district.
A sum of 1,25,000 / - was seized from them and 8 goats were seized. Also seized was a Maruti 800-car that was reportedly used to steal goat.
The total value of the seized assets is 1,90,000. The perpetrators were arrested and imprisoned.
