'People's Assembly' hosted in Ward Areas under Singanallur Assembly Constituency in Coimbatore

Minister Senthil Balaji met the public in person and received petitions at the People's Assembly held in the 59th, 60th, 61st, 63rd , 64th and 62nd wards of the Corporation Singanallur Assembly constituency.



Coimbatore: Senthil Balaji, Minister of Electricity, Prohibition and Excise, met the public and received petitions at a public meeting held in wards 59, 60, 61, 63, 64 and 62 of the Singanallur Assembly constituency in Coimbatore.



As per the directive of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, the people of Coimbatore Corporation today submitted petitions to the Minister of Electricity Senthil Balaji at the Singanallur Assembly Constituency to receive speedy execution of their grievances regarding basic amenities and other amenities required for their wards.

District Collector GS Sameeran presided over the event. Corporation Commissioner‌ and Special Officer Raja Gopal Sunkara welcomed the gathering.



Senthil Balaji, Minister of Electricity, met the public and received petitions at a public meeting held at Coimbatore Corporation East Zone Ward No.59 SIHS Colony Corporation Primary School, Ward No.60 SMS Lay-out Corporation Primary School, Ward No.61 Nanda Nagar Corporation Primary School, Ward No.63 Kallimadai Corporation Primary School, Ward No.64 VaratharajapuramCorporation Primary School Ward No.62 Iyer Lay-out Corporation Primary School.

The Minister of Electricity, Prohibition and Excise stated at the event:-

As per the order of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, in all the 100 wards under the Corporation of Coimbatore, in 50 places such as Municipalities and town panchayats a total of 150 Departmental Officers of the District will personally visit and receive petitions and receive special petitions. I would like to express my appreciation to them and to the District Administrator for taking the lead in this event and for implementing the ideas and plans of the Chief Minister throughout the district. I assure all the elders, mothers and youth who have come here with confidence in the Chief Minister that all the departmental officials of the district who have visited here will investigate your petitions expeditiously and take the Chief Minister's Government orders into your hands as soon as possible.

Roads in the 59th Ward of the Singanallur Assembly constituency are badly damaged. It will be brought to the notice of the Chief Minister and all roads will be repaired with special funds. Furthermore, the sewerage project is yet to be fully implemented. He assured that funds would be made available for the underpass project in the Singanallur constituency as soon as possible and that work on the railway overpass would be completed as soon as possible. Apart from the programme of receiving petitions, arrangements have also been made for vaccination camps and a special program called "Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam" launched by the Chief Minister.

Especially in Coimbatore district, 70,819 people have sought the benefit of the poor through the Medicare programme. Similarly, out of 38,277 petitions filed in Coimbatore district, about 13,439 petitions have been resolved by creating a special department called "Chief Minister in your Constituency" and appointing separate officers for it. I would also like to inform you that the remaining petitions will be resolved departmentally soon. In addition, drinking water is being distributed once in 9 days in the areas under the Corporation of Coimbatore. A special scheme has been set up to supply drinking water once in 2 days and special funds are being provided to improve it.

Work is currently underway to prepare for it. Project evaluations are being prepared on behalf of the Corporation Administration and the Drinking Water Board. Senthil Balaji, Minister of Electricity said, "I assure you that the demands of all those who have come to the event and submitted their petitions will be resolved departmentally."

District Revenue Officer BS Leela Alex, Deputy Commissioner of the Corporation M Shamila, East zone Assistant Commissioner Senthilkumar Ratnam, former Minister Pongalur Palanisamy, former Singanallur Assembly Member N Karthik and former Eastern Regional Chairman SM Sami were present on the occasion. Officers and a large number of members of the public attended the event.
